Our Bakery
Our family bakery meticulously crafts our goods daily using traditional techniques and the finest ingredients. Committed to simplicity, quality, and flavor, we prioritize local sourcing, milling our whole grains fresh at the shop each night, and incorporating local butter, milk, eggs, flour, and organic ingredients whenever feasible.
To ensure a sufficient supply, we recommend preordering. Our production commences at midnight and continues throughout the day, with the bakery remaining open until 1 p.m. or until all products are sold. I make all products at the shop, by hand, and operate still as a one person baking shift at night. With that stated, ordering is highly recommended, though I do my best to have product on the shelf till 12:30/1:00 each day.

Specials for the Week of January 19th
Saturday Bread Special: Pumpernickel- 40% bakery milled organic rye, naturally leavened with the addition of some ground and whole caraway seeds. This loaf has a nice perceptible sour flavor, good crust, and delicious, moist crumb. Great for toast, sandwiches, soups, and saying out loud, 'Pumpernickel' with a gleeful smile on your face.
Sweet Special: Cherry Cheese Danish - Croissant topped with a blend of our homemade vanilla bean cream cheese and some plumped Traverse City cherries. Dusted with a bit of powdered sugar, streusel and sure to be a rich, fruitful treat in the midst of our cold, gloomy Michigan January.
Savory Special: Cottage & Herb Danish- A cross between a quiche and an Eastern European Cheese danish, this features local Calder Dairy cottage cheese, local eggs, parsley and caraway, cream cheese and a flaky crust featuring toasted sesame seeds, sea salt and caraway.
